BNZ Harbour Quays: 6 Green Star Rated!

The Client

The Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) is a dynamic organisation led by innovation that adapts to new ideas.  So, environmentally sustainable design played an important role in the development of its new multi-award-winning Wellington headquarters.

NEWSFLASH!  August 2011: Now awarded the country’s first "6 Green Star Office Interiors 2009" rating from the NZ Green Building Council! Read more about this award here.

For this project, BNZ engaged architects and designers to create a contemporary landmark commercial building on Wellington's waterfront  that met its day to day operational needs whilst achieving their Green Building Design objective. Right across the project there was a desire to select high quality eco-conscious fittings and materials to stand the test of time in a flexible, modern workplace.

The Brief

Provide personnel and visitors with safe and convenient access to filtered drinking water by utilising products that meet energy-efficiency ratings and satisfy green credentials.

The Solution

Install Billi Quadra under-bench drinking water appliances throughout the building.

Why Billi

In reviewing potential water systems, BNZ and their architects paid close attention to detail. Billi Quadra was noted for its power-saving technology, convenient boiling and chilled water dispenser, plus a compact, vent-free under-bench module.

In the final analysis, the Billi Quadra was selected for installation throughout the building because:

  • Quadra energy efficiency delivers the smallest carbon footprint;
  • Quadra’s unique and patented Thermodynamic heat cell reuses waste heat energy;
  • Quadra boasts the smallest commercial footprint which maximises valuable storage space;
  • Quadra operation is virtually silent and vibration free;
  • Quadra module requires no air clearance or cupboard venting.
