Q Theatre

Cheshire Architects have chosen Italian Palazzani “No Sensor”
taps by Merquip for the high use public bathrooms at Q Theatre.
These sumptuous bathrooms are so perfectly in keeping with the
theatrical essence of Q, and deserving of the advanced technology
and reliability of Palazzani’s “No Sensor” electronic taps.

Unlike traditional infra-red sensor taps, Palazzani “No Sensor” taps
use cutting edge reverse polarity technology, eliminating the need for
infra-red sensors. In effect, the tap acts as an aerial and senses
when hands are close. There’s no need for users to attempt to position
hands exactly in line with a sensor before the tap will work. So
long as they are close to any part of the tap, it will automatically
turn on. And of course turn off again when hands are withdrawn.
Palazzani’s use of reverse polarity technology provides greater ease
of use and reliability, requires no specialized care, and allows clean
modern designs otherwise impossible with traditional technologies.
Tim Dowson, Project Manager for the Q Theatre project, commented,
“Some of the important objectives for us were reducing both water usage
and operational costs. Palazzani “No Sensor” taps clearly meet these
criteria, and because their reverse polarity technology reduces the risk
of accidental malfunctioning, reliability and water savings are potentially
even greater. We were happy to go with our Architect’s recommendation.”
Palazzani’s “No Sensor” taps install like a conventional electronic tap,
through a standard 35mm single hole in the vanity top. They come
supplied with a 6v extremely long life battery pack, so require no
external power supply. Water supply can be either hot or cold, o r a
single mixed supply. Ideal operating pressure is between 1 and 5 bar
